Gothenburg, 4 November 2025 – the new Free-Flow ANPR parking at Swedavia’s Landvetter Airport was commissioned, a collaboration between SKIDATA, ePARK and Swedavia. The project is a major step toward the fully automated parking solutions of the future, where cameras replace barriers, tickets, and manual payment stations.
The new solution is based on ANPR technology (Automatic Number Plate Recognition), where cameras automatically read a vehicle’s license plate at entry and exit. The parking fee is calculated based on actual parking time and can be paid smoothly via the ePARK app, the web, or a pay station—completely without tickets or physical tags. For returning users, payment can be fully automated by registering the vehicle and a payment card in the app.
“The go-live went very smoothly thanks to a close and efficient collaboration between Swedavia, SKIDATA and ePARK. Free-Flow is the next generation of parking—fast, simple, and fully automatic,” says Jan-Olof Johansson, CEO of ePARK Group.
With ANPR technology, the need for barriers and physical tickets is eliminated, enabling faster entry/exit and more efficient use of parking space. The system also gives property owners and operators full insight into occupancy, flows, and payment rates, optimizing operations and increasing revenue.
How Free-Flow parking works
For users with an ePARK account, payment can be fully automatic with no manual steps.
About the collaboration
The new parking solution is the result of close cooperation between Swedavia, SKIDATA, and ePARK Group, where SKIDATA provides the hardware and camera technology, while ePARK supplies the digital payment platform and customer solution. Together, the parties deliver a future-proof, scalable, and user-friendly solution that sets new standards for airport parking in Sweden.
