Eskilstuna Municipality has awarded ePARK the contract to deliver a new digital system for managing parking permits. The solution will cover the municipality's residential parking as well as parking areas where various types of permits are required.
The municipality's goal is to modernize and digitalize what is currently a largely manual process for managing parking cards and permits, where physical cards are sent out each month. The new solution enables fully digital management, which is expected to streamline administration and simplify the process for both administrators and users.
Key factors in the procurement
ePARK was awarded the contract after receiving the highest score in the procurement process. A decisive factor was the platform's flexibility and open architecture, which allows the municipality to manage and administer permits regardless of future supplier.
The system covers several types of parking permits, including:
The estimated volume amounts to approximately 6,000 permits per year.
A fully integrated and future-proof solution
ePARK's platform features advanced permit management that integrates with the municipality's financial system as well as the Swedish Transport Agency's vehicle register. This ensures that the correct vehicle owner is applying for a permit and reduces the risk of errors.
The system enables:
More efficient operations and better oversight
The new solution that has been implemented will significantly reduce the manual processing the municipality currently handles. At the same time, it improves the ability of parking wardens to quickly and accurately verify permits digitally in the field.
The system is web-based and delivered as a cloud service (SaaS), meaning the municipality requires no local installation or dedicated operating environment.
A step in the municipality's digitalization journey
Eskilstuna Municipality's investment is part of a broader effort to streamline and digitalize its services. The new parking permit solution is expected to contribute to improved service, better oversight, and reduced administrative burden.
