We are really happy to welcome Hugo to ePARK – our new senior frontend developer who joined us in February. In addition to frontend development, he also steps into the role of tech lead and takes clear responsibility for product ownership. With responsibility for strategy, UX, UI, and the entire frontend development, he is already involved in several exciting initiatives and is looking forward to the many challenges and opportunities the role brings.
Tell us a bit about your background – what were you doing before ePARK?
I have worked at web agencies, developing both native and web apps, and over the years I’ve been involved in most digital disciplines in one way or another. I’ve worked with app development across several industries, including the automotive sector, non-profit organizations, and digital solutions related to health. Working both as a consultant on various client projects and within product companies has given me a broad and solid understanding of business, technology, and user behavior.
What do you enjoy most about your role here at ePARK?
The best part is being able to take responsibility for the entire chain—from idea to design and implementation. I’m an organized person and enjoy breaking down complex problems into clear parts and building logical flows. Really understanding the customer’s and user’s needs is something I’m truly passionate about.
What are you focusing on the most right now?
Right now, I’m working a lot on improving and optimizing our user flows. I look at where users get stuck, why it happens, and how we can make the experience simpler, clearer, and more intuitive. There are big opportunities to create an even better overall experience.
Why did you choose to join ePARK?
It felt like a very interesting solution and a company where a lot is happening—especially considering the international expansion. I saw many exciting dimensions to work with. What surprised me the most is how incredibly much we produce and the major challenges we solve despite not being a very large organization. I feel that I’ve grown enormously in the short time I’ve been here.
What do you do when you’re not working?
I live in Tyresö with my family, and we have two children—a three-year-old and a little one who’s three months old—so much of life revolves around home right now. I’m interested in football, even though I don’t play myself. I also enjoy being outdoors and working with gardening. This year I’m aiming to grow corn, tomatoes, and cucumbers, and I’m thinking about trying some more unusual things like pak choi and maybe even watermelon. Fingers crossed that it all works out!
